The best hing ever. This raw hing (asafetida) has a pleasant aroma for Indian cooking. Hing is made from the dried resin of a giant fennel-family plant. It is pleasantly aromatic and pungent raw. It becomes mellow and garlicky when cooked in ghee and evokes a beautiful savory flavor when paired with turmeric.
WILDCRAFTED - Organic certification is not available bc hing is sourced from wild asafetida plants.
HIGH POTENCY - Our raw hing is 8-10 times stronger than most compound hing powder sold in groceries. Only a pinch is needed.
PURE, NO ANTI-CAKING AGENTS - Gold Label lumps are 100% pure hing. Blue and Green Label powders contain only the minimum amount of edible gum arabic from acacia trees. Hing POWDER may contain natural moisture, making it lumpy or "hard," but can easily be broken up with a spoon.
